  • Garden and Other To Do:
    a) Fertilize container plants with a liquid fertilzer every 2 weeks; also fertilize bedding plants (annuals and perennials); b) Fertilize spring flowering shrubs and trees after they have flowered; also, take time to prune these plants as needed. c) Evergreens (broadleaf) should be fertilized now; d) Support clematis vines, other vines, and new upright shrubs and plants with trellises, staking, and soft tapes; e) Deadhead flowers for more abundant growth; keep chrysanthemum top growth "pinched" lower; f) Treat weeds when they develop.
  • Lawn To Do1:
    a) Check mower height for tall fescue grasses: 2-1/2 to 3 inches is normal for this time of year; b) Sharpen mower blade as needed; c) Don't over-water; there is no need to water, if the previous evening or day sufficient rainfall occurred.
