  • Garden and Other To Do:
    a)Take soil samples of your lawn; submit to your local State Extension office prior to fertilizing or applying lime. It is important to know your lawn's ph and important to know the level of chemicals now found in the soil.
  • Lawn To Do1:
    b)Inspect trees and shrubs for winter damage; prune and trim as needed. If you have ornamental grasses, they should be cut now to a heighth of about 6" prior to the start of new growth. c)Apply lawn pre-emergent to prevent/control the production of crabgrass and other undesirable grasses. d)Apply lawn fertilizer. Fertilizers which have a higher slow release of nitrogen (high WIN content) are preferred; organics are also preferred. Do your soil test early before fertilizing. e)Aearate your lawn if possible.
