The Virginia Association of REALTORS has analyzed the data for home sales in Virginia during the quarter concluded at the end of March (2010) and have identified 6 Facts why Virginia's real estate markets are moving ahead.

Weekly Residential Housing Stats for Northern Virginia- Traditional Re-Sale Listings at 71%- for Week Ending June 19th

For the week of June 13th thru June 19th, 2010, the unofficial number of residential properties listed in northern Virginia (data by Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) was 751.  With an interest in understanding market trends, it is significant to note that the make-up of traditional re-sales versus short-sales (pre-foreclosures) versus bank-owned listings in our area is currently concentrated in traditional re-sales.

Traditional Property Listings  : 533; 70.95 % of total;
Short-Sales (pre-foreclosures): 122; 16.25 %;
    Bank-Owned Foreclosures   :   96;   12.8 %.

The area includes: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Manassas City, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.

For the week of May 23rd thru May 29th, 2010, the unofficial number of residential properties listed in northern Virginia (data by Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) was 663.  With an interest in understanding market trends, it is significant to note that the make-up of traditional re-sales versus short-sales (pre-foreclosures) versus bank-owned listings in our area is currently concentrated in traditional re-sales.

Traditional Property Listings  : 465; 70.1% of total;
Short-Sales (pre-foreclosures): 138; 20.9%;
    Bank-Owned Foreclosures   :   60;   9.0%.

The area includes: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Manassas City, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.

For the week of May 16th thru May 22nd, 2010, the unofficial number of residential properties listed in northern Virginia (data by Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) was 758.  With an interest in understanding market trends, it is significant to note that the make-up of traditional re-sales versus short-sales (pre-foreclosures) versus bank-owned listings in our area is currently concentrated in traditional re-sales.

Traditional Property Listings  : 568 (535 were "Active"); 75% of total;
Short-Sales (pre-foreclosures): 134 (  88 were "Active");17.6%;
Bank-Owned Foreclosures   :   56 (  52 were "Active"); 7.4%.

The area includes: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Manassas City, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.
