Northern Virginia - Sales Data for April 2011 -- "Sold Prices" Are Up

For the Northern Virginia metropolitan area, housing sales numbers for the month of April 2011 showed "good" improvement over data for the year earlier.   

With data provided by the Metropolitan Regional Information Services (MRIS), "median sold prices" were at $360,000 for April 2011, an increase of 6.67%.  Also showing an increase were "average sold prices",  now at $417,654, increasing 5.84% from April 2010.

The number of houses sold during the April 2011 period stood at 2448.

February (2011) Housing Sales Stats Are Now Available - Northern Virginia

The Metropolitan Regional Information Systems (MRIS) and RBI have completed their housing (residential) sales analysis for the period ended February 2011, and "average" sales prices are higher over the same period a year ago.

According to the analysis, "average" sale pricing is now $391,336.

Virginia's 4th Qtr (2010) & Year-End 2010 Housing Markets -Trends & Sales Report - Now Available

The Virginia Association of REALTORS has released its sales and trends data for residential housing across the Old Dominion.  Good News: Median sales prices continue to rise! (Good news if you are an owner of residential real property in Virginia...).  Also, foreclosures continue to decline! This is the 4th Quarter 2010 report and Year-End 2010 report.

The Virginia Association of REALTORS has released the latest sales and trends data for housing across the Old Dominion.  Good News: Median Sales Prices Are Up! (Good news if you are an owner of residential real property in Virginia...).  This is the 3rd Quarter 2010 report.

Weekly Residential Housing Stats for Northern Virginia- Traditional Re-Sale Listings at 69%- for Week Ending Sept. 4th

For the week of August 29th thru September 4th, 2010, the unofficial number of residential properties listed in northern Virginia (data by Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) was 631.  With an interest in understanding market trends, it is significant to note that the make-up of traditional re-sales, versus short-sales (pre-foreclosures), versus bank-owned listings in our area is currently concentrated in traditional re-sales.

Traditional Property Listings  : 436; 69.3 % of total;
Short-Sales (pre-foreclosures): 128; 20.09 %;
    Bank-Owned Foreclosures   :   67; 10.61 %.

The area includes: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Manassas City, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.

For the week of July 25th thru July 31st, 2010, the unofficial number of residential properties listed in northern Virginia (data by Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) was 750.  With an interest in understanding market trends, it is significant to note that the make-up of traditional re-sales, versus short-sales (pre-foreclosures), versus bank-owned listings in our area is currently concentrated in traditional re-sales.

Traditional Property Listings  : 527; 70.3 % of total;
Short-Sales (pre-foreclosures): 141; 18.8 %;
    Bank-Owned Foreclosures   :   82; 10.9 %.

The area includes: Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax City, Fairfax County, Falls Church, Manassas City, Manassas Park, and Prince William County.
