5 Ways to Refresh Your Space

Get your creative gears turning, and whip your space into shape. You’ll be surprised how a few simple changes can give you a whole new outlook.

Embrace natural light
Open the blinds and enjoy the natural light when the weather becomes warmer and the sun is out more. Pull back the curtains in the morning rather than turn on the lights so you can see. Simply opening your windows can improve your mood and result in a small reduction in your monthly electric expenditure.

Lacks a lot of windows? Use big mirrors to reflect light and make your area appear more spacious. Additionally, mirrors create the appearance of a larger room, enhancing the brightness, space, and clarity of your home.

Give your furniture a clean slate
Set the mood, reflect light, and keep you from overheating with light, neutral chairs. These items can be left out all year if wanted to evoke thoughts of spring and combat the winter doldrums when the skies are gloomy. Invest in slipcovers that you can use seasonally and take off once cooler weather returns if you don't want to commit to white furniture.

Let nature be your guide
Consider using wicker, woven baskets, light wood grain, and cotton curtains as lightweight natural décor elements. Keep it light and airy and look to nature for inspiration.

Replace thick blankets with light throws in the summer, and store your heavy, dark decor objects in favor of woven baskets and decorations with a splash of color or a nod to nature. You may bring nature indoors and out by incorporating earthy elements for a feeling of renewal and freshness.

Pack some punch with pops of color
Colors like orange, pink, yellow, purple, blue, green, and purple all conjure images of spring and sunshine. Choose your favorite color from the rainbow, then embrace it. Consider a few pink ornamental vases, spring-green candles, or peach throw pillows.

Try something daring and step outside of your comfort zone, or keep it cool with understated undertones of something you know you enjoy. You'll be astonished by how much being surrounded by a sea of gorgeous colors improves your attitude.

Go green and breathe deep
A terrific approach to bringing the outside inside is to decorate your home with potted plants, floral arrangements, and herb gardens. They not only serve as lovely focus points and elevate your mood, but they also release small bursts of oxygen, so take a deep inhale.

Visit your neighborhood farmer's market for reasonably priced flowers or grow herbs in windowsill pots. A fresh, green appearance can still be achieved with artificial plants, even if you have a black thumb, without the bother or upkeep.

There are simple steps you can take to make your home inspiring, whether you want to revamp the entire place or just a few rooms. Spend some time refreshing your environment and your perspective to give yourself a new outlook and a new perspective.

You may entirely turn your house into a sunny, light, and airy room by playing with color combinations and looking to nature for inspiration.
